DNA DATABASES: CRIME- FIGHTING WEAPON OR THREAT TO PRIVACY?

INTRODUCTION

Law enforcement relying on data evidence united state law enforcement agency use data base of dna profiles created by the states and linked through the FBI’s combined dna index system (CODIS). The codis system authorized by congress in 1994, allows law enforcrmrnt officials to exchange and compare dna profiles at the local, state, and national level.

The case is all about advantages and disadvantageas use of DNA database system.

Ans .1

(a) It can use as a evidence.

(b) Computer analys can discover the identity of a criminal by matching DNA from bloods , hair , salivo, other bodily fluids left at a crime place so It ‘s very easy to identify criminals.

(c) It may reduce crime in society.

(d) It can use to prove someone innocence.



Ans.2

(a) DNA database pose risks to the innocent if they contain data on people who are not convicted criminals.

(b) Any problem in system affect the outcome of the result.

(c) It may be chance that innocent peole may be suspected as criminal if any hair or bodily flaids found at criminal spot.

Ans.3

 The bush administration and some state legislation have advocated expanding the FBI national DNA database to include juvenies or people who have been accused of crime but not convicted.

 Accorading to me, it should not limited to convicted felons because many time when crime happens at private or public place where many people have right to be but any single hair or bodily fluids left at a crime place may be chance that innocent convicted as felons so it is not sufficient or not produse accuracy in result.

Ans.4 Law enforsement investigation or security agency are able to use a DNA database.

Case study - can information system help prevent a public health crisis?

Ans.3 Advantages :-
           It can help to detect early sings of flu pandemic and provide public health and government decision maker with the information.
           Helps to reduce time required to classify health events as a serious public health problems.
            Is capable to collect data and analyse them on real time.

           Disadvantages :-
           It completely rely on internet.
           Not useful or available to rural people.
           It can be time consuming.
           Privacy of patient and security on their information is not maintained.


Ans.4 If I was a hospital director at a large urban hospital,I would surly joined Biosense system.The reason for that is that large urban hospital the information  and data of the patients would be variable and tedious to collect.
so selection of Biosense is a good choice.

Ans.1 The process for reporting and identifying major public health care problems,we usualy have to follow traditional process.
Its the manual process with much slower operation.
The chain is very slow and is not suited to the major public health emergency.

Ans.2 Biosense helps to suspect case reporting along with data visualization of pre-diagnostic data to support the earliest detection of potential of public health emergency.
 IDS ( within Biosense) provides web browser views of available influenza data.
Customer software developed by CDC provides or captures relevent patient record,diagnoses and prescription informaton.

Summary of the case

Accenture is a Global consulting service and outsourcing firm with over 1,29,000 employees serve clients in 48 different countries . it has no operational headquaters and operational branches.Managers are uses E-mail, phone,the web and another information technologyies to manage virtually,often while they are travelling themselves.
when a new consultant is hired, Accenture's system automatically sets up an e-mail account and instructions on where to pick up a laptop.

Questions and Answers  are as follow:

Que..1 What are the advantages of working in a virtual enviornment like the one created by Accenture ? What are the disadvantages?
The Advantages are as follows:
(1) No time constraints
(2) Flexible working condition
(3) We can work in any location of world becoz no location constraints.
(4) freedom of work
(5) We can save our trasportation cost
      e.g if i will work in hdfc bank or any others org which is not have a virtual enviornment so i have to            go at work place by any convyence(vechicle) so it consume cost while in accenture we can work from any wher.

Disadvantages are as follows:
(1) we can not give our maximum time for our work so it may not result in our good performance
(2) it required IT knowledge
(3) No formal working structure


Que..2 Would like to work in a company like Accenture? why or why not ? explain your answers.

    yes ,I like to work in a accenture because it has reputed company in all over the world so work   in accenture it automatically increase my status in society . working in accenture required good knowledge in IT and skill so i have to cope with it so encourages me to work hard for my personal development.and i also like to work with accenture because i dont like to work in time constraints so here i get flexible work time.

Que..3 What kinds of companies could benefit from being run virtually like accenture? could all companies be run virtually like accenture?


A soft ware compay or IT solution company who work globally and also company like Dell etc benefit from being run virtually like accenture . by this way they can reduce construction cost,hired employees from any country for e,g.if its work in india so it can hire indian employee which can communicate with indian customer in their regional languagges.

No all compnies be not run virtually like accenture.
E,g. videocon who manufactured colour picture tube etc so all company who manufactured product its required to has plant , machinary and building etc...
